depends on what I am doing, I like the 70-200, but use the 50 since it's much lighter (and usually after my arm's gotten tired of holding that much glass)

Where do you work now? As for my camera, no, I am a Nikon guy. I would L O V E to have the 70-200 2.8 AF VR lens, but those are around $1600. What is your primary lens for all your portrait shots? Do you use the 50 mm?

Yeah, i agree that hanging on to the past isn't the best thing to do, but I'm still recovering from that and that was back in June (July for the car) so it's still very prevalent in my mind... I have such a busy schedule, the only days I know I have off are sundays, tues/thur I have school, mon/wed/fri/sat I work. I'm trying to push them to less night shifts cause of the bus and all.

I'd love to get into concert photography, but never really have the means to get to a concert. You shoot with canon right? I had the 50 mm 1.8 till it broke (which was like two weeks after I got it, but it's a funny story). I replaced it later with the 50 mm 1.4 USM for like 4 times the cost. It was/is a great lens, but not for concert work since you have to be so close. I have the 70-200 2.8 and that's a much better one for concerts, though I'd love to have the one with the IS... That lens though is almost the staple of my photography, I barley us my old 28-135 anymore, unless I need something wider then 50. I want to sell that lens and buy a new wide angle lens, but glass for some reason or another costs a lot?

Those Apple people are silly. I still can't believe I worked there. Well, like I always say, we live life forwards, but we learn from it backward. Crap happens for a reason, even though you may never know why, or you'll figure out why in about 10 years. Don't be too bummed about the car thing. Gas, insurance, maintenance, tickets etc. are too expensive these days anyway. I wish I had a better understanding of the public transit system, I'd use it. What days work for you to hook up? I'm good on Sundays, and Mondays. I am taking a live sound reinforcement class at Sac City on Monday nights, but during the day am usually free. I have really been getting into the live sound thing. I still DJ, but doing sound for live bands is really sweet. I have also been wantign to get into concert photography. I just bought a cheap 50mm f/1.8 lens for such occasions. The depth of field on that thing is really a trip.

no, dude, apple fired me... I had sundays off cause I had my son that day, and it had been that way for months, and then on sunday they scheduled me and I was like you all know I can't work, told them in advance, came in the next day and halfway through; well I think you get the idea. A month later my car finally failed smog so couldn't get it registered, and the registered owner (my ex) decided it wasn't worth investing any more money in to fix so her and her boyfriend took it to the junkyard. Which sucked, cause I was supposed to start a new job that week making decent money....

fun huh?

just working on my photography, trying to finish school, trying to not be a starving student (though unsuccessful most days). We should get together for coffee some time.
